After completing my Fine Art Degree in Painting and Printmaking I began to balance my own art work with various teaching positions.  I worked as an Artist in Residence at a school in England and exhibited my work on a regular basis; including solo shows and ‘open studios’.  My fascination with objects and their interpretation led to a position as Arts Education Officer for a museum service in Hampshire, England for a number of years.
I have always made things and been involved in my own creative education, producing a large body of work.  Two recurring themes and obsession have informed my work; interiors and the presence and absence of people.  I am searching for interior spaces which are empty but which resonate with human activity and drama.  The corner of a room, a deserted house or basement space can evoke converse feelings of melancholy, joy and expectation.  Since moving to the West Coast of Canada in 2005 trees and forests have also woven their way into my images.

Since 1990 my work has been purchased by private buyers, businesses and public organisations including the Arts Council of Great Britain.
